WHAT IS MEDICARE?
Medicare is the federal health insurance program for: people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD).
Medicare is divided into 4 parts:
Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)
Part B covers certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.
Medicare Advantage (also known as Part C) is an “all in one” alternative to Original Medicare.
These “bundled” plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D.
Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage)
Part D adds prescription drug coverage to:
Original Medicare
Some Medicare Cost Plans
Some Medicare Private-Fee-for-Service Plans
Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans
WHAT MEDICARE OPTIONS DO WE OFFER?
Selvaggio Insurance Services, SIS™ offers Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C), stand alone Prescription Drug Plans (Part D), and Medicare Supplemental Plans, also known as Medigap.
Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C), are an “all in one” alternative to Original Medicare. These “bundled” plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D. They also might include additional benefits that aren’t available in Original Medicare. They can also be further customized to include vision and/or dental coverage.
Medicare Part D is a prescription drug plan to meet just your medication needs. It requires a monthly premium; in exchange you can utilize the carrier’s network of pharmacies to purchase your medication.
Medicare Supplemental Plans, also known as Medigap, have higher premiums but supplements the coverage gaps and deductibles that Part A and Part B leave behind.
